Luna swings her feet while she waits. Harry is late, but that's okay. The small Muggle park is pretty at sunset, and the bridge over the pond is a pleasant place to sit. She peers through the rail, gently stroking her slightly swollen stomach and taking in the glowing colors.
"I wish you could see this, my love," she says to her unborn child. "The sky is like a parade of lights just for us."
It seems so idylic, and Luna is reminded again that the Wizarding population is quite small and the Muggles aren't even aware of the great evil that was vanquished just over a year before.
She wonders how people can be so naive. She doubts they'd believe Crumple-horned Snorcacks exist even if one was standing in the middle of London.
Luna contents herself with Muggle-watching until Harry joins her, breathless, with a rushed apology. Luna smiles dreamily, and he stops short. She touches her swollen stomach
He sits beside her. He lets his feet dangle off the edge of the bridge, and rests his elbows on the lowest rung of the wooden rail. He leans over to give Luna a soft kiss. She accepts with an indulgent giggle.
Harry shifts to touch Luna's stomach with his fingertips. He nuzzles against her neck.
He acts happy, content, though Luna knows the Aurors have been working too hard lately. He wants to keep Luna happy, to keep the Wizarding world safe, to be the hero everyone wants him to be.
Luna hopes her child won't have to experience what she and Harry did. She hopes her child will have the chance to be naive, like the Muggles at the park.
